We Provide an End To End Service

Owen Fabrications has the in-house facilities and workforce to deliver your steel fabrication project from concept to reality in the safest & most efficient ways possible, all while maintaining an absolute focus on quality throughout the process.

Scope of Work & Quotation

If the client is looking for us to design and specify then we will vist site to survey and understand the required scope of works. Once the scope is fully defined then an accurate quote is produced.

Detailed Site Survey and Measurements

Following receipt of a purchase order, contract or other type of formal approval to proceed we begin the design and detailing process.
This will often require a detailed site survey to obtain measurements and to see any existing building fabric we need to connect to. If there is a client-appointed architect or structural engineer then we work alongside them during our design phase to ensure we are interpreting their requirements correctly, and to answer any queestions we may have.
Completed drawings are then issued to the client, architect or structural engineer (or all 3) for approval.

2D Fabrication Drawings & 3D Modeliing

We provide 2D component and fabrication drawings, plus 3D models of the complete space, which can also be provided as an IFC file for integration into the wider site model where BIM methodoligies are being used.

Steel ordered

Following drawing approval we produce a material list based on the agreed 3D model, which is then ordered with our preferred steel stockholder.

Steel Fabrication

Once we receive delivery of the raw materials we begin fabrication and use the approved drawings as the working guide within the workshop. During the fabrication process we will finalise and confirm the delivery requirements and submit any health and safety documentation which may be needed.

Delivery

On delivery, our operatives will unload the materials, unless the site requires unloading to be done by the main contractor (such as if there is a tower crane on site).

Installation

Depending on the scope of works and the required programme, our operatives will organise the materials into the order and area they are needed and will begin assembly on the ground of possible and necessary. They will work through all the materials until everything has been installed to plan.

Quality Control & Sign off

Following full completion and resolution of any snags, we will walk the site with the client to view and approve all elements and will ask the client to sign the works off accordingly.
